Frequently Asked Questions

Are you looking for a tour of our nation’s capital — Washington, D.C. — that will be much more than looking at impressive monuments? Are you looking for a tour that will help you capture the deep, rich, Christian heritage of our country and the people who founded it?

If you are, then our Spiritual Heritage Tour is for you.

Welcome to our website with everything you need to know about the two (June and September) Spiritual Heritage Tours we lead each year. Please click on the various words on the left side of this page such as “costs,” “dates,” and “itinerary” for information on the different aspects of the tour. The tours usually fill up two to three months in advance.

We have been hosting these tours since 1998. There is no other tour like it. We visit the monuments and special places in our nation’s capital while at the same time learning the history of our country, including the incredible influence of Christians and the Christian faith on America. Noted historian Stephen McDowell of the Providence Foundation joins us on each tour to share stories and anecdotes as well as answer questions. Stephen has authored such books as “America’s Providential History,” and the “In God We Trust Tour Guide.” In addition to the education and inspiration, we also have a lot of fun on these tours. If you have a problem having fun with other brothers and sisters in the Lord – you probably need to look for another tour !

Another great reason to join us for one of the Spiritual Heritage Tours is that once you make it to Washington, D.C., we take care of you from Wednesday evening until we end Saturday night. Every day is thoughtfully planned out to get the maximum benefit out of our time. We use private motorcoaches to get around town and we have appointments at the busiest places to see like the Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, the National Cathedral and George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate. Again, thank you for visiting our website and please tell others about our tours. Our desire is to educate as many people as we can about the true Christian heritage of our beloved United States of America. And if you have any questions, please e-mail me at twildmon@afa.net or phone 662-844-5036 ext. 228. We at Spriritual Heritage Tours look forward to hearing from you!

P.S. If you have a group -- such as a Christian school class, seniors traveling group, etc. -- interested in a private tour of Washington, D.C. and Mount Vernon it can be arranged through Spiritual Heritage Tours. The tour would be exactly like the one you read about here (including historian Stephen McDowell) except it would be for your group only on the dates your request. The minimum number of people needed to apply for a private tour is 50. The great benefit of using Spiritual Heritage Tours is once you get to Washington, we take care of the rest. No worries trying to get your group around D.C. or making your own schedule. If you use Spiritual Heritage Tours everything is taken care of so you can enjoy your experience and lessen your stress. Please e-mail or call us if your group would like a private tour.
